ISIS Moves in Syria to Infiltrate Iraq

Iraqi MP Yousef al-Turkmani emphasized that the terrorist institution ISIS is attempting to take advantage of Syria’s unstable security situation to launch operations and activate its underground networks within Iraq, according to the English section of webangah News Agency citing Al-Maluma.
He added that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), fully coordinating with Iraq’s security forces, stand as a strong barrier against this terrorist group, safeguarding Iraq’s internal security.
Al-Turkmani stressed that ISIS consistently seeks to exploit security and political vacuums to reenter Iraq. However, our forces’ vigilance will prevent this from happening again.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported from the field on ISIS’s resurgence amid Syria’s power vacuum.The extremist group’s attacks are increasing as its members exploit the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
