UN Coordinator in Lebanon Visits Occupied Territories

News sources report the ⁢United Nations Special ⁤Coordinator for​ Lebanon’s visit to the occupied territories to meet with Israeli officials.

According to the English section ​of webangah⁢ News ‌Agency, citing Anadolu via Mehr News Agency, jan Egeland, the ​United Nations Special coordinator for Lebanon, arrived in the occupied Palestinian territories on Monday as part of an official visit.

Jan Egeland’s office in Lebanon stated that this trip aims⁣ to⁣ conduct regular consultations with relevant parties to follow up on the implementation⁢ of UN Security​ council Resolution 1701.

During this visit, Egeland is scheduled‍ to meet with ⁢senior Israeli officials and discuss recent regional developments, notably concerning efforts related⁤ to Resolution 1701.

The Special Coordinator will also engage ‍in discussions regarding an understanding ⁢on‍ halting opposed ⁤actions implemented since November 2024.

The UN office in‍ Lebanon emphasized that these consultations ⁢seek to enhance ⁣security and⁢ stability along both sides of the Blue Line ‍separating Lebanon ‍and the occupied territories.
