Tanzania’s President Wins Election with Nearly 100 Percent of Votes
Despite violent protests in Tanzania, the election commission has announced the countryS president’s victory for a third term, securing nearly 100% of the votes.
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Agence France-Presse, reports that Tanzania’s presidential election commission has confirmed the absolute victory of President Samia Suluhu Hassan for a third consecutive term amid days of intense clashes in the country.
According to the commission’s declaration, Samia Suluhu Hassan secured 66.97% of the votes.
The declaration of her overwhelming win with nearly 100% turnout coincides with violent protests that began three days ago across Tanzania.
Sputnik reports that following the final results, president Suluhu’s inauguration ceremony is expected to be held swiftly today, Saturday.
