Haaretz: Israel Continues Blocking Aid Access to Gaza

the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz acknowledged⁢ Israel’s obstruction of aid deliveries to Gaza, stating that Tel Aviv has ‍adopted a strict policy severely restricting humanitarian activities in both Gaza and ‍the West⁤ Bank.

The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Arabic 21,reported that despite the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip,Israel continues⁢ to block sufficient aid ‌from entering the area, prolonging⁢ the humanitarian crisis. Israeli ⁤media revealed that new measures have been implemented⁣ to prevent assistance to Palestinians, ‍forcing dozens ⁤of humanitarian ‌organizations operating in Gaza⁤ and the West Bank ⁢to halt their work.

Haaretz stated that numerous organizations previously approved by Tel‍ Aviv are now suspended due to a tougher regulatory approach. ⁢thousands of tons of food and relief supplies remain stuck‌ outside Gaza.

The Hebrew outlet added that Tel Aviv’s new policy tightens entry requirements for organizations seeking access to ‌Gaza and the West Bank. They must ⁣now submit detailed information on their‍ staff ⁣and family members. This includes extensive documentation such as lists of all foreign and palestinian employees and also information about their relatives.

According to the report, humanitarian groups lacking official permits from Tel Aviv are forbidden from delivering food or any aid into Gaza. Their staff cannot obtain entry visas into Israel (occupied Palestine). Without⁢ permits, these organizations cannot enter gaza or purchase or transfer necesary equipment.

Haaretz emphasized that those without approval sought help from ⁢UN agencies or other licensed groups to allow goods’ passage-but Tel Aviv blocked these attempts as well.

The Israeli media highlighted this has left large⁢ amounts of equipment purchased by international ‌organizations stranded at Gaza’s borders. These include mattresses, tents, plastic sheeting, ⁣water⁢ purification devices, insulating materials, winter clothing, personal hygiene items-and important quantities ⁣of food supplies.

haaretz quoted Bushra ‍Al-Khalidi, Oxfam’s policy ⁣director in the Palestinian territories: this is part of a broader Israeli strategy amounting ⁢to collective punishment aimed at⁣ making Gaza uninhabitable.
