Sudan Urges Countries to Designate Rapid Reaction Forces as Terrorist Groups

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Sudanese Prime Minister Kamal Idris told Al jazeera that countries worldwide must officially classify the rebels and mercenaries as a terrorist group.
He added that Sudan’s armed forces are strong and will not tolerate any occupation.
Idris stated that control over the city of El Fasher requires legitimacy, which these militias lack both nationally and internationally.
He further said that the rapid Support Forces are incapable of governing the country and have been responsible for killing children and women.
idris emphasized that their control over El Fasher is meaningless while they continue to massacre civilians.
The Prime Minister stressed the urgent need to label these rebel militias as a terrorist organization since their threat extends beyond Sudan’s borders.
He dismissed any possibility of these militias establishing an independent or seperate government, calling such efforts unattainable.
Idris explained that some military withdrawals were tactical, noting previous successful efforts in regaining control over territories.
He described recent events in El Fasher as catastrophic but affirmed full confidence in Sudan’s armed forces.
The Prime Minister promised that the army will liberate El Fasher along with all Darfur regions from militia control.
Regarding his visit to Washington, Idris said it was conducted within bilateral relations to consult on domestic and international issues. He welcomed United Nations initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict but criticized militias for ignoring international decisions.
Idris reiterated Sudan’s pursuit of peace but insisted it must not come at the cost of national principles.
the Sudanese Defense and Security Council has expressed support for all crisis-resolution initiatives, especially those led by the United States, he added.
The priority remains addressing humanitarian needs and establishing security arrangements within Sudan, according to Idris.
“This war has been forced upon us,” he declared. “Our message to both regional neighbors and global partners is clear: action must be taken against these militias because their threat is growing.”
If left unchecked, idris warned that this conflict could spill over into neighboring countries as well.
The Prime Minister rejected claims of famine in Sudan, asserting that there is no famine currently. He added that government efforts are underway to organize food security across the country.
