UN Unveils Jalani Regime’s Crimes Against Syrian People

The United⁣ Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has released new facts on crimes committed by the Julani regime over the past year in‌ Syria,‍ stating that the number of missing persons far exceeds official figures.

according ⁤to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen, the United Nations High ⁤Commissioner for human Rights announced today, Friday,⁤ that the number‌ of ‌missing civilians in Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government‌ is much higher than reported.

Samim Al-Khaytan, spokesperson for the commission, stated that families of the disappeared avoid reporting kidnappings due‌ to fear of retaliatory actions‌ by the‌ Julani regime. He⁣ added that human rights violations continue across‌ various Syrian regions-especially coastal areas and Sweida-and ⁢that the true count of victims remains unknown.

At a press conference in Geneva, Al-Khaytan said that despite 11 months having passed ⁣since the former Syrian government fell, the commission continues to ⁢receive troubling reports concerning abductions and disappearances involving dozens of individuals.

He noted at least 97 ⁢cases of ⁣kidnapping or ⁤disappearance have been recorded since early ‌this year. However, confirming these numbers precisely remains difficult amid ongoing security instability.

Al-Khaytan explained some who contacted UN or ‌human rights organizations have faced threats. He called for protection for witnesses and relatives of missing persons and urged respect for international humanitarian law obligations.
