U.S. Removes Julani’s Name from Sanctions List

US State Department spokesperson announced that the State and Treasury Departments have removed Abu Mohammad Jolani from the Specially Designated Global Terrorists list.
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Tommy Pigut, Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, stated that on November 6, the united Nations Security Council adopted a resolution initiated by the United States to remove Ahmad al-Shara and Anas Hassan Khattab, Syria’s Interior Minister, from sanctions lists.
He added that today Secretary of State has decided to delist Ahmad al-Shara-known as Mohammad Jolani-from the Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) list under Executive Order 13224. Additionally, the US Treasury Department will remove Anas Hassan Khattab from the SDGT list pursuant to the same executive order with subsequent amendments.
