100,000 Evacuated in the Philippines as Storm Intensifies

Manila authorities have issued the highest alert level across large parts of the Philippines and evacuated over 100,000 peopel from the eastern and northern regions.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency via Sputnik, the Philippine government today evacuated more than 100,000 residents from eastern and northern areas as Typhoon Phanfone intensifies. The storm is expected to hit later today with heavy rains, destructive winds, and severe storms.
The report states that the highest typhoon warning-known as Alert Level 5-has been issued across extensive parts of the country.This includes southeastern Luzon regions such as Catanduanes and coastal areas of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur. Authorities in Manila, the capital city, and surrounding towns have also declared Alert Level 3 warnings.
