Kabul: Pakistan’s Lack of Cooperation Blocks Progress in Istanbul Talks

The Afghan Interim Government’s Ministry‍ of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying ⁢Pakistan’s lack of cooperation prevented tangible results in the Istanbul negotiations.

According to⁤ the English section of webangah​ News Agency, citing⁤ Al jazeera via Mehr News agency, Afghanistan’s Interim Government Ministry ‌of Foreign Affairs ⁢released a statement on⁤ Sunday accusing ​pakistan of undermining the third round​ of bilateral talks ​in Istanbul.

The​ statement ​from afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs read: “The Afghan delegation participated in the Istanbul ⁣negotiations with sincere intentions to find a⁢ solution. The⁢ Pakistani side showed ⁢no willingness to make any ⁣commitments during the third round.”

The ministry added that Pakistan’s ⁢lack of cooperation obstructed any meaningful progress in the Istanbul ​talks.

Simultaneously occurring, Pakistan’s Defense ⁤Minister‍ previously told Geo News regarding the Istanbul negotiations⁣ after border‌ clashes with Afghanistan that “talks between the two countries have been suspended due to‌ unclear outcomes. A complete deadlock has been‌ reached. The ​negotiations have entered an uncertain ​phase.”
