Pakistani Taliban Claim Responsibility for Islamabad Explosion
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and AFP,on Tuesday,following a car explosion near the entrance of Islamabad’s district courts buildings,Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reported at least 12 fatalities and 27 injuries.
The TTP took responsibility for the attack, stating it targeted “judges, lawyers, and certain judicial officials,” and warned that further attacks may follow.
This is the first deadly suicide bombing in the capital in several years; the last recorded incident occurred in December 2022.
Islamabad has multiple layers of security. The explosion occurred in the parking area of the city’s busy judicial complex.
The blast was so powerful it was heard several kilometers away. It damaged multiple cars parked near the court building, which receives hundreds of visitors daily.
