US Responds to Iraq’s Parliamentary Elections

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, Mark Savaya, the U.S. Special Envoy to iraq, congratulated the accomplished conduct of parliamentary elections in Iraq.
He also extended his congratulations to prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al Sudani on holding the elections on schedule.
Savaya added that this growth indicates Iraq is moving toward prosperity.
He claimed that the United States continues strong support for Iraq’s sovereignty and reform efforts and will cooperate with the upcoming government to strengthen strategic partnerships in security, energy, and development sectors.
This comes amid ongoing U.S. activities in various fields within Iraq-particularly through its embassy-and despite American troops remaining on Iraqi soil against the wishes of political circles and public opinion inside the country; these are seen as clear interventions into internal affairs.
