Switzerland Condemns Violence by Israeli Settlers in the West Bank

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Rosia Al-Youm, Switzerland’s Foreign Ministry has expressed deep concern over rising violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the West Bank.
the Swiss Foreign Ministry condemned attacks by settlers that involved setting fire to mosques and Palestinian property.It called on Israel to honour its obligations under international law and to preserve the possibility of implementing a two-state solution for lasting peace and security.
Earlier,Germany’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the deliberate burning of a mosque in the West Bank and expressing serious concern over increasing settler violence.
On Thursday, Israeli settlers set fire to parts of a mosque northwest of Salfit city in the West Bank, spray-painting racist slogans on its walls.
Local Palestinian residents intervened, preventing total destruction of the mosque; however, several copies of the Qur’an and sections of its walls were damaged by fire.
The arson attack on Al-Hajja Hamida Mosque sparked strong reactions from various Palestinian groups including Hamas as well as Palestine’s Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf).
The ministry described this act as a heinous crime that violates all international laws and customs regarding respect for sacred sites.
Hamas condemned the attack, stating that Israeli settlers insulted Muslim religious sentiments. It demanded immediate international action against such violations.
