Maduro: No One Believes Imperialist Lies Against Venezuela

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated that imperialism is creating false narratives after failing to accuse Venezuela of communism and terrorism.
speaking to the Russian news agency sputnik, he said: “They tried to label us ‘communist’ and then ‘terrorist’ with fabricated stories, and now imperialism is inventing an even stranger narrative.”
Maduro added, “Since they cannot claim that I possess weapons of mass destruction, they are fabricating a baseless and absurd story that no one believes.”
The remarks came amid reports that updated military options-including a potential military attack on Venezuela-have been presented to U.S. President Donald Trump.
CBS reported hours earlier that senior U.S. military officials delivered updated scenarios for possible operations in Venezuela during a White House meeting with Trump on wednesday.
The report indicated that General Hegst and other top military officials presented various operational options, including ground assaults in Venezuela, in Trump’s presence on Wednesday.
The Washington Post noted yesterday that following the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier’s arrival in Caribbean waters, Venezuelan armed forces have been placed on full alert.
The American outlet assessed this growing U.S.military presence near Venezuela as an indication of increased chances for expanded operations in the Caribbean Sea. It also suggested Washington may target Venezuelan military bases and airports.
Although U.S. officials justify increasing their Caribbean deployment as anti-drug trafficking efforts, Latin American leaders-including Nicolás Maduro-have called for all regional countries to prepare for any U.S. adventurism.
