Senior Russian Official Survives Assassination Attempt
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, Russian sources have confirmed that an assassination attempt on a senior government official has been thwarted.
The russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced it prevented an attack targeting a high-ranking official.
in a statement released Friday, the FSB said it foiled a terrorist plot orchestrated by ukrainian intelligence agencies. The planned attack was to take place at moscow’s Troyekurovskoye Cemetery while the official was visiting the grave of a relative.
the FSB statement read: “The Russian Federal Security Service prevented a terrorist act planned by Ukrainian intelligence services aimed at targeting a senior Russian official during his visit to the burial site of one of his relatives in Troyekurovskoye Cemetery.”
No names were disclosed regarding the targeted senior official.
