Israeli Regime Closes Ibrahimi Mosque to Worshippers

The webangah News Agency English section reported, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, that as last Friday, the Israeli army has maintained a curfew on Palestinians in the Old City of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank. The Ibrahimi Mosque remains closed to worshippers under the pretense of observing the Jewish holiday known as ”Sarah’s Holiday.”
According to Aref Jaber, a member of Hebron’s defense committee and its residents’ representative, the occupying forces have imposed restrictions across several neighborhoods within the Old City - including Ghaith, Salaymeh, Jaber, Sahla, Tel Rumeida, and Wadi al-Hussein.
He added that Israeli military checkpoints leading into Hebron’s Old City have been sealed off entirely. Entry and exit are fully prohibited. This policy forced manny residents to spend nights outside their homes.
Jaber noted that hundreds of Israeli settlers launched raids into Hebron’s old City on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Backed by occupation forces, they staged provocative marches through its streets.
