Iraqi Official: New Government Formation Could Take Six Months

An Iraqi parliament member pointed to the⁢ possibility of forming the country’s next government within six‌ months.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Maalomah, mokhtar ​Al-Musawi, a member of Iraq’s parliament, emphasized that negotiations to form the future government could be challenging and complex.

He added that⁢ the ‍proclamation of preliminary parliamentary election​ results has provided a clearer picture of the ‌political alignments among groups within both the Coordination Framework coalition‌ and ⁣among Sunni, Kurdish, and Turkmen factions.

Al-Musawi stated that consultations began two days ago and initial meetings have been held to draft a roadmap for establishing the next‌ government.

He stressed that forming iraq’s⁢ upcoming government will​ not be an ‍easy task and may require five to six months.The identity of the new prime minister remains uncertain at ‌this stage.
