Coordination Framework Coalition: Iraq’s New Prime Minister to Be Decided by January 9

According to the English section of webangah News Agency citing Al-Malouma via Mehr News Agency, Issam Shakir, a member of Iraq’s Coordination Framework coalition, emphasized that the identity of the new prime minister will be persistent before January 9.
He added that under the legal framework,Iraq’s fifth parliamentary term remains in session untill January 8,2026.
Shakir stated that on this date, the Coordination Framework will be ready to announce the new prime minister. He expects an accelerated government formation process, especially given significant agreements with other groups regarding state programs.
He stressed that the Coordination Framework will decide on the prime minister’s identity and anticipated more candidates will emerge in coming weeks.
