Former Iraqi MP Urges Parliament to Seriously Address Popular Mobilization Laws

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al-Maaloma, former Iraqi parliamentarian Moein Al-Kadhimi emphasized that the new Iraqi Parliament must seriously address the issue of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and pass laws concerning them.
he added that attention to this national matter should be free from foreign interference or pressure. The PMF has shown great dedication in defending the country, and Iraq’s legislative body must enact laws to protect their rights.
Al-Kadhimi stated that the next phase should involve unified national positions supporting the status of the PMF as an official institution.
it is noteworthy that the United States, through its channels in Iraq, especially its embassy in Baghdad, is strongly working to prevent the passage of legislation related to the Popular Mobilization Forces in Parliament.
