G20 Summit Emphasizes Achieving Just Peace in Ukraine and Palestine

G20 participants emphasized ‍the​ need for just and⁤ inclusive peace in Sudan, Palestine, Congo,‍ and Ukraine.

The G20 leaders attending the summit in South Africa ‍have ⁤adopted a ⁤joint statement, according to ‍the English section of webangah News Agency.

The statement ⁤highlights the urgent ⁤need for‌ a sustainable ⁤agreement in Ukraine.

It reads: “We will ⁢strive ‍to achieve just and inclusive peace⁢ in Sudan, Palestine, the Democratic republic of⁤ Congo, and Ukraine.”

The G20 summit officially opened ⁣Saturday⁣ in ​johannesburg-marking the ⁣first time this meeting has been held ⁢on african soil. This year’s gathering takes place amid⁣ tensions between Washington and the European Union over Ukraine’s future and also a deadlock in ​climate ⁢negotiations‍ in ‌Brazil.

World leaders present include ​French President Emmanuel macron, Indian Prime Minister Narendra‍ Modi,⁣ Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Brazilian⁣ President Luiz Inácio Lula⁣ da Silva, ⁣and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

however, former U.S. President Donald Trump’s ‍management stated that⁢ South ‍africa’s⁣ priorities on trade cooperation⁣ and climate action do​ not align with U.S. policies. Consequently,⁢ trump declined to attend⁤ the summit.

The G20 consists‌ of 19 member countries plus the european Union. The African ⁢Union‌ participates ‌as a guest observer at certain ‍sessions.
