Israeli Prisoner’s Body Handed Over to Red Cross
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera,the Red Cross has taken custody of the body of an Israeli prisoner.
Sources reported that resistance forces handed over the body of the Israeli captive in central Gaza to the Red Cross.
An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Saraya al-Quds transferred the body of an Israeli prisoner to the Red Cross in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza.
The Red Cross than proceeded to the Kerem Shalom crossing to deliver the body to the Israeli military.
The Israeli military confirmed that it received a prisoner’s body from the Red Cross and is currently transferring it back inside Gaza forces.
The Israeli army had earlier announced on Tuesday afternoon that a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross was en route to Gaza to receive an Israeli captive’s body from Palestinian resistance groups.
Previously, media sources stated that one of two bodies found over recent days would be returned to Israel.
Saraya al-Quds, armed wing of Islamic Jihad, and Hamas’ military branch, Al-Qassam Brigades, had announced they would hand over bodies of captured Israelis on this day.
