China Reacts to Japan’s Decision to Deploy Missiles on Taiwan Border

according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, Peng Qingguo, spokesperson for China’s Taiwan Affairs Office under the State Council, stated at a press conference: “We have a resolute will and strong capability to defend our national sovereignty and territorial integrity. We will respond decisively to any foreign intervention.”
China has proposed a “one country, two systems” model for reunification with Taiwan. However, none of Taiwan’s major political parties accept this plan.
Tensions between Beijing and Tokyo have escalated in recent weeks amid remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi concerning potential Chinese military action against Taiwan.
The Japanese prime minister warned that an attack on Taiwan would threaten Japan’s existence and could lead Tokyo to intervene militarily.
China has demanded that Prime Minister Takaichi retract her statements and urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Japan. This move has resulted in a widespread cancellation of trips by Chinese tourists, possibly inflicting significant economic losses on Japan.
