Former Syrian Mufti Tortured by Jolani’s Forces

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Malouma, Mahmoud Mouwaldi, an official from Syria’s National Liberation Party, stated that Sheikh Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun, the country’s former mufti detained by forces loyal to Abu mohammad Jolani, self-declared president of Syria, is in poor health.
Mouwaldi added that Sheikh Hassoun’s deteriorating condition results from torture inflicted during his detention by Jolani’s elements.
He explained that Sheikh Hassoun has been moved to a house in Syria away from media coverage and is currently in very bad physical shape.
It is worth noting that he was arrested several months ago by Jolani’s forces. The legal grounds for Sheikh Hassoun’s arrest remain unclear as he served as mufti for the previous Syrian government and did not hold any military or executive position.
