Deadly Hong Kong Fire Kills 14, Injures Several + Photos
A massive fire in Hong Kong has claimed 14 lives and injured several others.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Reuters, a huge fire broke out today, Wednesday, in several high-rise residential blocks in the Tai Po district of northern Hong Kong.
The incident has so far resulted in 14 fatalities and numerous injuries among residents, the report stated.
Thick black smoke rose from the 32-story towers.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
media reports describe this as Hong Kong’s worst fire in 17 years.
Rescuers managed to evacuate peopel from two high-rise buildings,but several individuals-including elderly residents and children-are still trapped inside.
More than 760 firefighters are currently battling the blaze.
