Russia: We Will Counter Potential Threats from U.S. Missile Systems

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Russian Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov warned that if U.S. intermediate-range missile systems pose a threat to Russia in any region, Moscow will implement compensatory military and technical actions.
The deputy minister mentioned that Russia and the united States remain in contact on a case-by-case basis regarding prisoner exchanges. He underscored Russia’s support for a calm and regular negotiation process with the U.S. on Ukraine, stressing that Russia does not wish to engage in any “dirty or worthless games.”
Ryabkov noted that the visit of Steve Wickoff, the U.S. special envoy for Middle East affairs,to Russia is still scheduled,and Moscow will work on all proposals presented by the envoy during his trip.
The senior Russian official also stated that some European countries are actively trying to disrupt progress on the Ukraine matter and prevent agreements between russia and the United States regarding this issue.
