Spanish Media Warns of Europe’s Declining Geopolitical Influence Worldwide
According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News agency, the Spanish newspaper El País reported that Europe is at risk of losing its geopolitical position due to fear of reactions from U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Western daily wrote that the european Union, overly concerned about its security and stability, is unable to withstand pressure from Washington.Excessive fear of a Trump response has paralyzed decision-making within the EU.
El País noted that the U.S. government is attempting to pressure Brussels regarding digital regulation by threatening tariffs. It added that the European Commission appears trapped in a state of administrative incapacity.
The Spanish outlet warned that without decisive and swift action, Europe will entirely lose its role as a key global geopolitical player.
El País stated that peace negotiations in Ukraine have exposed weaknesses within the EU and revealed Brussels’ insufficient capacity for managing international crises.
The Western media also emphasized that preserving Europe’s strategic role requires rapid, coordinated, and autonomous decisions to resist external pressures and prevent geopolitical retreat.
