Belgium: Loan to Ukraine Using Russian Assets Hinders Peace

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency, belgian Foreign Minister Maxim Provo told Politico that the European Union’s decision to lend money to Kyiv using frozen Russian assets could undermine efforts to resolve the Ukraine conflict.
He stated, “the seized assets of the Russian government can play a role in establishing peace. Our actions regarding how these assets are used should not hinder the success of peace talks.”
Provo also criticized the EU’s insistence on using Russian assets to support Ukraine, saying European officials have failed to find other financing methods and continue pushing this approach without fully understanding its risks.
Peace negotiations on Ukraine, mediated by the United States, have so far failed to resolve disagreements over border delimitations. moscow and Washington accuse European countries of obstructing these talks.
