Macron and Trump Discuss Ukraine in Phone Call

According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing al Jazeera, the Élysée Palace announced that French President Emmanuel Macron spoke minutes ago with U.S. President Donald Trump about the situation in Ukraine.
The conversation took place shortly after Macron’s remarks at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
On Monday, expressing concern over the European Union’s isolation regarding peace talks on Ukraine, Macron stated: European countries must be involved in negotiations about security guarantees for Ukraine.”We support efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine,” he added.
The French president continued: ”russia needs to provide clear details about its peace plans for Ukraine to American mediators. We share a common view with the UK on establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine… Russia has shown no sign of ending its aggression.”
Macron further said: “Ukraine has the right to decide on its own territory. Security guarantees for Ukraine cannot be discussed without Kyiv and European countries participating. In coming days, we will have more talks with our allies concerning these security guarantees. The coalition committed to working on security assurances for Ukraine has been completed and plans discussions with the United States soon.”
