Spain Condemns Israeli Settlement Expansion as Illegal
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated on Saturday that there is no clear mandate for international forces in Gaza and stressed the importance of a Palestinian state living peacefully.
Albares expressed deep concern over the situation in the West Bank, asserting that Spain and other European nations will not recognize any annexation. He insisted that the construction of settlements must cease because it is illegal and contravenes international law.
Furthermore, José Manuel Albares emphasized the necessity of supporting any opportunity for a just peace in Ukraine, guaranteeing its sovereignty. “We want Ukraine to be at the heart of any peace operation,” he stated. “There is no European security outside of Ukraine, and what happens in Kyiv concerns Europe!”
