Iran Prioritizes Expanded Relations with Belarus: No Limits to Cooperation

According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Mohammad Reza Aref highlighted Iran’s strategy to develop relations with Belarus, citing the excellent political ties between the two nations during his meeting with Andrei Kuznetsov, who also heads the Belarusian side of the joint cooperation commission. He noted that the successful 18th session of the joint commission offers a significant opportunity to boost all-encompassing relations.
Aref also mentioned that Iran and Belarus share similar views in international forums and participate in various regional organizations, which necessitates deepening and expanding cooperation across all fields. He advocated for increased trade and economic exchanges through strengthening the joint cooperation commission.
The recent visit of the Iranian President to Belarus has opened new horizons for the development of bilateral relations, Aref stated, referencing his meeting with the Belarusian Prime Minister on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. He emphasized that exchanges between officials and events like the joint commission meeting play a crucial role in enhancing cooperation, particularly in the economic sector.
Aref stressed that the private sectors of both countries can significantly contribute to increasing trade volume and urged both sides to encourage economic actors in the private sector to enhance trade relations, taking advantage of the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Expanding tourism ties was also identified as another area for enhancing cooperation. Aref added that academic, scientific, and technological collaborations, especially in emerging technologies, given the valuable achievements of Iran and the capabilities of Belarus, could create opportunities for bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
He also highlighted the upcoming fourth International Trade Exhibition with Eurasia, noting that such events can help showcase Iran’s capabilities and expand economic interactions among Eurasian countries.
Andrei Kuznetsov affirmed Belarus’s readiness to develop relations with Iran across various fields. He emphasized that the 18th session of the joint cooperation commission and the agreements reached there can help strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
Kuznetsov pointed to joint industrial productions between the two countries and stated that Belarus aims to increase and enhance cooperation with Iran.
The Belarusian Minister of Industry described Iran as a friendly and brotherly nation, adding that the visit achieved the desired results for strengthening mutual ties. He advocated for increased activity from the private and non-governmental sectors and noted that the well-organized joint commission meeting demonstrated the potential to expand trade volume.
