According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cambodia has accused Thailand of launching new airstrikes using F-16 fighter jets in the Preah Vihear province. The Cambodian Ministry of Defense reported that Thai jets bombed the areas of Phnom Kamouch and Peak Sbik early Thursday.

The Cambodian Defense Ministry stated that its forces remain resolute in protecting the country’s territorial integrity and national dignity.

Cambodian media reported calm on the borders the previous night.

A special Chinese envoy for Asian affairs has begun a diplomatic mission to Cambodia and Thailand to mediate between the two countries and facilitate a swift return to peace.

At least 55 people have been killed on both sides since the clashes began 12 days ago.

The conflict stems from a territorial dispute over the demarcation of an 800-kilometer border established during the colonial era and the location of ancient temples along the border.

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has repeatedly claimed success in brokering a ceasefire between the two countries, a claim denied by Bangkok.
