Pakistan Denies Army Chief Carried Messages from Trump to Iran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Thursday that Army Chief General Asim Munir has not conveyed any new messages from U.S. President Donald Trump to Iran in recent days. The ministry clarified that General Munir’s recent trip to Tehran was part of Islamabad’s continuous endeavors to de-escalate tensions and resolve the ongoing crisis.

Tahir Andarabi, spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressed reports suggesting that General Munir had relayed messages to Iranian officials during his recent visit, stating at a press conference, “These claims are incorrect. The visit by Pakistan’s Army Chief was undertaken within the framework of Islamabad’s mediating role.”

He further elaborated that the discussions held were part of sustained efforts to help end the conflict and revive initiatives to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The focus was on resolving the current stalemate and resuming efforts to restore regional stability and peace.

Andarabi emphasized that Islamabad, in cooperation with friendly nations, continues its mediation between the United States and Iran and supports all initiatives aimed at achieving peace and finding a just resolution to the conflict.
