Swedish Authorities Seize Russian Cargo Ship Over Sanctions Violation

Sweden’s Customs Office has detained the Russian cargo vessel ‘Adler’ after it anchored near Höganäs due to engine issues, citing its owners’ inclusion on the EU sanctions list.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Swedish customs officials, supported by the Coast Guard and Police Service, boarded the Russian container ship Adler late Sunday night for inspection. Martin Höglund, spokesperson for Sweden‘s Customs Office, confirmed the seizure but declined to disclose findings from the ongoing cargo examination.
