US and Ukraine Issue Joint Statement on Florida Peace Negotiations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States and Ukraine have announced in a joint statement that a series of constructive meetings took place in Florida over the past three days, involving Ukrainian, American, and European delegations. The discussions centered on establishing frameworks and actionable steps to secure peace in Ukraine.
The statement highlighted that the Ukrainian delegation engaged in intensive and productive consultations with American and European counterparts, including a separate bilateral meeting between US and Ukrainian officials, described as constructive.
Both sides confirmed that the negotiations addressed timelines and the sequencing of next steps related to Ukraine’s peace plan, including discussions on the development of the 20-point plan and aligning positions on security guarantees for Ukraine.
The statement emphasized Ukraine’s commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace, which should not merely halt hostilities but also lay a solid foundation for long-term stability. The US and Ukraine reiterated that their top priorities remain ending the war, ensuring security, and creating conditions for Ukraine’s reconstruction, recovery, and long-term stability.
The joint statement comes as Western diplomatic efforts to establish a political framework for managing the crisis intensify amid the ongoing and increasingly protracted conflict in Ukraine. Recent months have seen disagreements over security guarantees, the timing of agreement implementation, and Ukraine’s future security structure emerge as key challenges in negotiations between Kyiv, Washington, and European allies.
