Russian Security Official Warns Zelensky Must Live in Hiding for Life Amid Escalating Tensions
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, stated in a social media post that Zelensky is attempting to sabotage the conflict resolution process and “wants war.” Medvedev warned that the Ukrainian leader would now be compelled to live in secrecy for the end of his “worthless life.”
The remarks came as Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on Monday that Ukraine had conducted a terrorist attack using 91 drones against President Vladimir Putin’s residence in the Novgorod region. Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for Russia’s Foreign Ministry, vowed retaliation for the targeting of Putin’s home.
The escalation follows Zelensky’s Sunday meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, which had raised hopes for peace in Ukraine. European nations, particularly Britain, have emerged as key opponents of Ukrainian peace efforts, with some Russian officials accusing London of involvement in the attack on Putin’s residence.
