Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto Declares Nation’s Non-Alignment with Military Alliances

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has stated that Indonesia will not join military alliances but is open to economic partnerships, emphasizing the need for an alternative financial system.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized that his country has no intention of joining military alliances, although it remains open to participating in economic coalitions. Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, Subianto highlighted the current geopolitical landscape where trade is weaponized and supply routes are transforming, necessitating the development of an alternative financial system. He cited the Eurasian Economic Union as a model for cooperation aimed at achieving widespread prosperity. Furthermore, President Subianto noted that bilateral trade between Russia and Indonesia reached five billion dollars in 2025 and should be doubled.
