Somalia Protests Erupt Over Israel’s Recognition of Somaliland

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, thousands of Somali citizens took to the streets of Mogadishu on Tuesday, protesting Israel’s official recognition of Somaliland. Demonstrators gathered at a stadium in the capital, waving Somali and Palestinian flags while chanting slogans against Israel’s decision and reaffirming Somali unity.
One protester, referencing Somaliland, stated, “Do not believe the lies of a criminal whose hands are stained with blood; he has killed the Palestinian people.” The protests reflect widespread public outrage and strong opposition to Israel’s move, with tensions expected to escalate in the Horn of Africa.
Last Friday, the Zionist regime recognized Somaliland as an independent state. Gideon Sa’ar, the regime’s foreign minister, announced that Israel and Somaliland had signed an agreement to establish full diplomatic relations, including the appointment of ambassadors and the opening of embassies. He stated that the agreement followed a year of negotiations.
Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, invited Somaliland’s separatist leader, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, to visit the occupied territories during a video conference call. The international community has widely condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland.
