Masoud Barzani Calls for Ceasefire in Syria Amid QSD-Julani Forces Clashes
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Masoud Barzani, President of Iraq’s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), has called for an end to clashes between Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (QSD). Barzani emphasized the need to adhere to prior agreements aimed at resolving conflicts and achieving stability among Syrian factions.
Barzani revealed that a pivotal meeting was held between U.S. President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Syria and the commander-in-chief of the QSD, as part of efforts to address the crisis. He expressed hope for a swift cessation of violence and tensions in the region.
Additionally, Barzani welcomed Julani’s stance on Kurdish rights in Syria, describing it as a positive step forward. Meanwhile, Syrian television reported that Mazloum Abdi, commander of the QSD, arrived in Damascus for talks with Julani, attended by Tom Barak, the U.S. envoy for Syria.
