Iraqi Forces Foil Largest Terror Plot Originating from Syria

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a security source in Iraq‘s Anbar Province announced that Iraqi forces successfully neutralized the largest planned terrorist operation aimed at the nation’s northern provinces.
The foiled terror plot was designed to infiltrate Iraq through a network of secret underground tunnels extending from Syrian soil, but the operation was stopped by the vigilance of Iraqi troops.
The source further stated that American military personnel had deliberately concealed a large subterranean tunnel connecting the Qamishli region in Syria directly to Erbil Governorate in Iraq. Terrorist elements intended to utilize this secret underground route to launch a widespread assault across both northern and southern sectors of Iraq, a plan that was ultimately thwarted by the prompt action of Iraqi forces.
The security source clarified that Iraqi forces discovered the subterranean pathways that were prepared for an operation intended to proceed with direct backing from the United States. The source concluded by emphasizing that the design and construction of these specific underground routes were carried out by American companies at substantial expense—costs deemed far beyond the financial capabilities of the ISIS terrorist organization.
