White House Reiterates Readiness for Unconditional Talks with North Korean Leader

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a senior White House official reiterated that the U.S. administration continues to insist on its stance of being ready for dialogue with the leader of North Korea without any preconditions. This policy from Washington towards North Korea remains unchanged, and the door for discussion is still open. The official emphasized this point, referencing the history of previous meetings between President Trump and the North Korean leader during the prior presidential term.
These statements were made following recent remarks by Kim Jong Un at the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Kim Jong Un had announced that Pyongyang “has no reason not to coexist with the United States,” provided that Washington abandons its “hostile” policy towards North Korea. The North Korean leader also noted that the future of relations between the United States and North Korea is entirely dependent on the U.S. stance.
