US Embassy Logistics Base Near Baghdad Airport Targeted
A logistics support base for the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, located near the capital’s airport, has been targeted, according to Iraqi security officials. The incident follows a series of drone attacks in the vicinity in recent days.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, an Iraqi security official, who requested anonymity, informed Al Jazeera that the U.S. Embassy’s logistics support base near Baghdad International Airport was targeted. The official did not specify the method of the attack.
This area has been subject to drone attacks on multiple occasions in recent days. The security official also stated that an unidentified drone crashed near a residential complex in western Baghdad.
He confirmed that alarm sirens were activated at the logistics support base situated close to Baghdad Airport. In the past few hours, five drones have been intercepted near Baghdad International Airport, the Iraqi official added.
