Iranian Air Defense Targets Israeli Fighter Jet Over Tehran, Al Jazeera Reports

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing information published by the Mehr News Agency, Al Jazeera reported on Saturday that an Israeli fighter jet was targeted by Iranian surface-to-air missile defense systems while operating in the airspace of Tehran. This development comes after an alleged engagement of an American F-35 stealth and radar-evading fighter jet by Iran’s indigenous air defense.
The Israeli military has not released further details regarding the fate of the targeted fighter jet or its pilot. This reported incident of Iran’s domestic air defense systems engaging both an F-35 and an Israeli fighter jet occurs despite repeated assertions from senior officials in Washington and Tel Aviv since the early days of the conflict that “Iran’s air defenses have been completely destroyed.”
