Lavrov: No Evidence of Iran’s Nuclear Weapon Ambitions; West Seeks Global Hegemony

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has declared that there is no evidence to support claims of Iran’s inclination towards developing nuclear weapons. He asserted that the West’s continued stance is an attempt to perpetuate its global hegemony.
In an interview with the Russian television channel RT, Lavrov commented on the West’s objectives, stating, “The West aims to destroy Russia, just as it attempted to do in the First and Second World Wars.”
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed surprise at remarks made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who suggested Russia was not prepared for negotiations. Lavrov recalled Rubio’s participation in the Anchorage summit on August 15th of the previous year, during which Vladimir Putin had agreed to proposals from Trump concerning fundamental steps that could halt military operations and initiate dialogue.
Lavrov elaborated on the West’s negotiation strategy, suggesting, “It appears the West is incapable of negotiation, thus it follows a time-wasting approach to achieve unilateral interests.” He contrasted this with Washington’s consistent calls for dialogue with Moscow since the ascent of President Trump.
