North Korea Declares Nuclear Status Non-Negotiable, Vows to Strengthen Capabilities

North Korea has unequivocally stated that its status as a nuclear-armed state is non-negotiable, vowing to further enhance its nuclear capabilities rather than disarm. This firm stance comes amidst ongoing regional tensions and a visit by leader Kim Jong Un to a naval vessel.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, North Korea will never relinquish its position as a nuclear-armed state, emphasized Kim Yo Jong, deputy director of the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea and sister of the nation’s leader Kim Jong Un. She added that Pyongyang will tolerate no threats and will adhere to its nuclear capabilities, stating that North Korea’s conditions as a nuclear power are absolutely non-negotiable.

North Korea will not concede “an inch” regarding nuclear disarmament; instead, it will strengthen its nuclear capabilities. Prior to the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to the country, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited the naval destroyer ‘Kang Gon,’ where he stressed the necessity of bolstering the nation’s maritime power for nuclear war deterrence.

The Korean Central News Agency reported that Kim inspected the sea trials of a warship that had been repaired after a failed launch last year, pledging to accelerate efforts to build a nuclear naval fleet. The report indicated that Kim visited the 5,000-ton destroyer Kang Gon on Thursday, which was undergoing capability testing.
