Former Pakistani Minister Slams Islamabad MOU as US Capitulation

Former Pakistani Minister of Finance Asad Umar has described the recent Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as a ‘document of unconditional surrender by the United States,’ asserting that it signifies a reversal of initial demands for Iran’s capitulation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, former Pakistani Minister of Finance Asad Umar has reacted critically to the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Iran and the United States. He stated that while former U.S. President Donald Trump had initially demanded Iran’s unconditional surrender at the outset of what he termed the “Iran war,” this demand has ultimately been met, albeit in a different form.

In a message posted on social media platform X, Umar elaborated on his assessment of the “Islamabad MOU,” calling it the “document of unconditional surrender by the United States.” He suggested that the initial expectation was for Iran to disarm, but he contended that it was, in fact, the United States that ultimately laid down its arms.

This Pakistani politician had previously voiced congratulations to the “brave people of Iran” for their refusal to compromise on their national sovereignty and for their subsequent success. The comments reflect a geopolitical interpretation of the recent accord, framing it as a significant strategic shift.
