Switzerland to Host Preliminary Talks Between Iran and United States

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Swiss government has confirmed that preliminary talks between Iran and the United States, alongside representatives from Pakistan, Qatar, and other relevant countries, will be held on Friday. This announcement follows earlier reports that a scheduled signing ceremony in Geneva had been canceled.
The Swiss government had previously stated on Wednesday that a memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran would be signed with the participation of high-level representatives from the United States, Iran, Qatar, and Pakistan. The Iranian and American delegations are scheduled to meet on June 19th at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland.
Earlier, Fox News had reported, citing a White House official, that a formal signing, initially planned for Geneva, had been called off after an event in Versailles. U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters as he departed the Palace of Versailles in Paris following a dinner with President Macron, stated that an understanding to end the war with Iran had been signed.
