Israeli Defense Minister Katz Asserts No Withdrawal from Lebanon, Cites Continued Military Operations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz has emphasized the ongoing military movements of the Israeli regime in Lebanon. Katz claimed that there will be no limitations imposed on the Israeli army in Lebanon and asserted that all the achievements of the Israeli army in the Lebanon conflict are preserved. He further stated that there are no restrictions on the Israeli army in Lebanon to neutralize threats.
Katz said that the ceasefire in southern Lebanon allows the Israeli army to maintain all its positions. He asserted that there will be no withdrawal from the security zone in Lebanon.
Previously, Israeli Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir criticized the limitations imposed by the United States on the military’s freedom of action in southern Lebanon, stating that the ceasefire in Lebanon cannot continue in this manner. Ben-Gvir argued that Israel must continue its military pressure on Hezbollah, regardless of the U.S. stance.
He added that Israel must maintain its independence in decision-making and act according to its highest security interests, even if these decisions conflict with U.S. pressures or positions. Israel’s security, he contended, should not be dependent on the permission or agreement of any party. Ben-Gvir also stated that as long as Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese government, no negotiations should take place with the Lebanese government.
These remarks followed statements by Donald Trump, who urged Tel Aviv to exercise restraint and halt its military attacks in Lebanon.
