Lebanese President Discusses Ceasefire Mechanisms with US Officials

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun engaged in a phone conversation with U.S. officials regarding ceasefire arrangements in the region. The presidency of Lebanon announced that U.S. Senator JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed President Aoun that deliberations are underway concerning the ceasefire mechanism between the United States, Lebanon, and Iran.
The discussions also encompassed a proposal for establishing an oversight committee for the ceasefire among the three nations. During the call, the U.S. officials reaffirmed Washington’s support for the stances of the Lebanese President and government in extending state sovereignty over all Lebanese territories with the assistance of the army and security forces. President Aoun expressed gratitude to the U.S. officials for Washington’s attention to Lebanon with the objective of ending the conflict in the country.
