Israel Renames Gaza Displacement Plan Amid International Criticism

Israeli officials have instructed security bodies and the Mossad intelligence agency to cease using the term ‘voluntary migration’ for the plan to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, rebranding it as the ‘Freedom of Movement Plan’ to mitigate international backlash.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli authorities have reportedly ordered security agencies and the Mossad to stop referring to the plan for expelling Palestinians from the Gaza Strip as ‘voluntary migration.’ This directive, as reported by Israel’s Channel 13 and cited by Al Jazeera, signals a rebranding effort for the initiative, which will now be officially designated as the ‘Freedom of Movement Plan’ in official correspondence and meetings.

The shift in terminology is intended to reduce international criticism and garner support from certain nations. The Israeli media acknowledged that the previous term, ‘voluntary migration,’ had elicited widespread negative reactions globally, with many countries perceiving it as a facade for the forced displacement of Gaza’s population. This rebranding comes as Tel Aviv continues to pursue strategies aimed at increasing the exodus of Gazan residents from the territory, viewing it as integral to its future planning, according to an Israeli official speaking to Channel 13.

In parallel, the newspaper Haaretz reported that the Israeli regime’s National Security Council convened a special session to discuss implementation strategies for this plan. Representatives from the Mossad reportedly admitted during the meeting that no country has yet expressed readiness to accept residents from the Gaza Strip, indicating significant obstacles to the plan’s execution.
