Hamas Condemns Israeli Plans for West Bank Antiquities Control
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas has issued a strong condemnation of the Israeli regime’s persistent plans to seize control of more than 140 historical sites located in the Hebron Governorate, in the southern occupied West Bank. This development was reported by the Shehab news agency, citing Mehr news agency.
In its official statement, Hamas declared that the transfer of management for these sites to “occupying and colonial entities” represents a concrete manifestation of the systematic Judaization policy targeting their land. These measures are reportedly part of a broader plan spearheaded by Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, aiming to transform Palestinian heritage into tools of colonialism and to impose false realities.
The Hamas movement asserted that such schemes will never alter historical and geographical truths, deeming the occupying power’s actions void and devoid of legitimacy. The statement emphasized that the Palestinian people in Hebron and across all occupied territories will remain steadfast guardians of their heritage, land, and holy sites.
Furthermore, Hamas urged UNESCO and all other responsible international bodies tasked with preserving global heritage to take immediate action. The group called for swift intervention to halt the occupation forces’ encroachment on these historical and civilizational sites, expose the distortion of facts by the Israeli regime, and hold them accountable for violating Palestinian heritage rights.
