Libya Plunged into Darkness After Power Plant Explosion in Al-Zawiya

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency quoting Al Jazeera, the Libyan electricity company announced that the activities of several power plants have been halted due to an explosion near the country’s electricity generation facilities. This event follows a week of unidentified drone attacks targeting Libya.
The explosion resulted in a power outage affecting the Libyan capital and cities along the western coast extending to the Jabal Nafusa region.
The company emphasized that technical teams have initiated efforts to identify the cause of the explosion in the city of Al-Zawiya.
The perpetrators of these attacks remain unknown, and Libyan officials have stated that their investigations are ongoing to identify the involved parties. Earlier on Wednesday, another attack south of Al-Zawiya had caused widespread power outages in the city.
The city of Al-Zawiya, located west of the Libyan capital, is considered one of the country’s significant urban centers due to its oil refineries and vital infrastructure.
